Christopher Yazzie is an Environmental Engineering PhD student at the University of Arizona. He is from the community of Tuba City, Arizona, Navajo Nation. He has previous water resource work experience with tribal, county, and state agencies. His future career goals are to help solve Tribal water issues and eventually teaching Environmental Engineering at an Arizona university, where he can advocate for Native Americans achieving higher education in engineering. Outside of research he loves listening to music, playing PUBG mobile, and singing karaoke. He has a wife and three children.
Chris's PhD research is focused on water treatment and brine management, specifically, he is using nanofiltration to treat groundwater and novel graphene oxide electrochemical methods for brine management and removal of heavy metals.
