Jorge Ramos

Research Technician III

Jorge has a background in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and Engineering. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology (2015) and a master’s degree in Biosystems Engineering (2022) from the University of Arizona. Jorge is a founding member of XTRACT Inc. , a start-up biotechnology company that produces innovative plant and fungal-based extracts for research and health and wellness products. Outside of work, Jorge enjoys playing video games, watching anime and movies, reading, hiking (mushroom foraging), and fishing.

Jorge’s role in the KORES lab is to support the efforts of the design and optimization of sorbets for treatment of PFAS-contaminated water.
