McKenna graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2020 with a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering: Environmental. She is a first year MS student in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of Arizona. McKenna has always had a passion for environmental sustainability, with past research in biogas production via bioreactors as well as work in stormwater and wastewater management. Seeing that it is time for society to delve deeper into a more sustainable lifestyle, she hopes to continue her career with an environmental pursuit and take on global environmental issues. In her free time, McKenna likes to run, snowboard, travel and go to music festivals.
McKenna is currently working with a Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation (QCM-D) to interpret adsorption properties and characteristics for the treatment of PFAS contaminated water via lipid bilayers.
